WCA members can receive French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry member price of $60 when they book with FACCI for the inaugural Concours des Vins du NSW. This is a $20 saving off the full price of $80.
The Concours des Vin du NSW is a true celebration of the diversity and quality of NSW wines. This event is organised under the patronage of the Consulate-General of France.
The Concours des Vin, created more than 20 years ago in Melbourne, is now a most-anticipated event in the Victorian wine show calendar. It differs from other wine shows by promoting Australian wines through a French perspective and palate. Today, more than 120 wineries participate and enter their wines which are showcased during an Awards Presentation and tasting event which attracts 1,000 guests.
For its first edition in Sydney, the judging panel is composed of French wine professionals from Australia and abroad. Franck Moreau, Master Sommelier and ‘Best Sommelier Asia-Pacific 2012’, will chair the panel alongside Gilles Lapalus, Hervé Lalau, Michael Engelmann, Pierre Durand, Céline Rousseau, Florent Bouvier and Christophe Rebut. They will taste and appreciate the entered wines from 12 different grape and vintage classes.
The Awards Presentation and Wine Tasting Evening will take place on Thursday 13 June at the Wharf Restaurant @ Pier 2, Walsh Bay.
Attracting a broad corporate audience, as well as State government representatives, wine-industry professionals, media, and the general public, the Concours tasting event is expected to be a sell-out this year with over enthusiastic 500 guests. It will be a great opportunity for the wine-loving public to taste a diversity of style from the NSW wines, discuss and debate with the experts and enjoy a selection of French cheeses and charcuterie.
