The Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) Royal Adelaide Wine Show Awards Lunch is the showpiece event on the South Australian (SA) wine calendar. Run in partnership with the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA and sponsored for the first time by Booth Transport, we are thrilled that the 2019 event will be once again held at the Adelaide Showground on Friday 4 October 2019, 12.30 – 3.30pm.

The WCA Royal Adelaide Wine Show Awards Lunch provides a chance to immerse yourself in this year’s trophy and award winning wines.  Guests will hear from the Chair of Judges, Louisa Rose and International Wine Judge, Joe Czerwinski, while enjoying a delicious three-course meal.  For the second year, the top three wine show awards will be announced at the lunch.  Guests will be the first to hear who the winners of the following awards are:

  • Max Schubert AM Trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine in Show
  • George Fairbrother Memorial Trophy for Most Outstanding White Wine in Show
  • Gramp Hardy Hill Smith Prize for Outstanding Wine of Provenance

With wine writer Nick Ryan as our returning and ever colourful MC, this event is sure to be both informative and entertaining.

Greg Follett Winemaker Lake Breeze Wines and Chair RA&HS Wine Committee commented on the WCA Royal Adelaide Wine Show Awards Lunch “The WCA lunch hasn’t been on my radar in past years – but last year’s new format was relaxed, there was plenty of great food – and I caught up with people I hadn’t seen for ages! The atmosphere was casual, fun – like a regional show lunch. Now it is an event I really look forward to attending after the Exhibitor Tasting – come along and join us!

James Mitchell, Business Development Manager of Booth Transport, commented “Booth Transport continually strives for excellence and we see the Royal Adelaide Wine Show as an important vehicle to showcase excellence in winemaking.  Our values are aligned and we are very proud to sponsor this important event.”

As in previous years, lunch ticket holders will be provided access to the VIP Tasting – an opportunity to try  over 2,500 different wines entered and over 1,000 medal-winning wines from the Wine Show at the Adelaide Showground.
