Webinar: The art of future-facing strategic thinking
15 April @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm ACST
Tune in to this webinar to hear from Professor Russell Boyce about the art of future-facing strategic thinking, to help build a stronger Australian wine sector.
Whether it be market forces, geopolitics, global economics, workforce trends, regulatory issues, environmental challenges, pandemics or advanced technologies … waves of disruption keep coming, and such disruption can threaten the operations, revenue and event existence of organisations.
A focus on business-as-usual tactical operations, or strategic planning under the assumption that tomorrow will be very similar to today, is a high-risk approach. Strategic thinking that incorporates horizon-scanning and employs diversity of thinking from across and from outside the organisation is needed, to : ask “what if” questions and anticipate disruption scenarios; then use similar thinking to construct approaches that defend against attack and position the organisation to disrupt rather than be disrupted.
This webinar will provide insight into the art of such future-facing strategic thinking, with examples focused on the Australian wine sector.
