WCA is seeking an Executive Officer (EO) to lead the organisation’s day to day management and growth. Reporting to the WCA Chair, and based on WCA’s evolving strategic plan, the Executive Officer is responsible for fostering and expanding collaboration with wine industry stakeholders who fund and support WCA, as well as members, wine industry associations and wine industry businesses, in order to increase the relevance of WCA and maintain its financial health.
The successful applicant will certainly require a relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, tourism or business management and several years experience in membership-based organisations. Leading a small team, responsibilities will include managing events and relevant projects; strategic planning and implementation; performance management and reporting. A core responsibility is sourcing funding from the public and private sectors. The role requires an excellent understanding of the Australian wine industry; experience with traditional marketing, digital marketing and public relations, media and media liaison.
Most likely based in NSW, Vic or SA, the EO role will be contract-based and remunerated on a notional 2 1/2 days per week, so is likely to suit a self-employed professional working within the wine sector.
