Best Innovative Packaging

This award category celebrates creativity, functionality, and sustainability in packaging design. It recognises packaging solutions that push the boundaries of traditional design to engage with a wine target market, incorporating innovative materials, formats, functionalities, and eco-friendly features.

Entry criteria

  1. Open to the wineries based in Australia who are involved in developing packaging for their individual brand(s).
  2. Teams can submit an entry in conjunction with an agency or a third-party supplier
  3. The developer must be mindful of the environmental impact of the packaging.
  4. The award category includes but is not limited to packaging formats (eg cans/pouches) labels, brochures closures, cartons, etc.

Entry Fee:

An entry fee of $55 inc GST applies to every award nomination submission for this category.

Judging Criteria:

  • Encourage sustainability – Eco-friendly elements of the packaging
  • Branding – How the brand is telling their story through packaging
  • Innovation design- Is it pushing the boundaries of traditional design
  • Consumer Education- How the brand is educating consumers through packaging
  • Return on investment – Positive impact of packaging on sales.

Prize:

The winner will receive: one year’s membership to WCA (valued at $181.50), promotion via the WCA website and its membership base, a specially designed framed award certificate and exclusive WCA 2020 award-winner print, and web graphics to use in personal marketing and communications.
