Best Wine Website
This award acknowledges a wine website that combines outstanding design, creativity and usability (UX) with current, engaging and relevant content for its desired audience. Consideration will be given to the goal of the website, ecommerce experience, integration of key digital mediums (e.g. video) ability to engage with the audience as part of broader digital ecosystem.
This category is aimed at Australian wineries, state/regional associations and wine businesses. If you are a wine review/features website, please look at our Best Digital Communication category or in some cases our Best Published Feature Article or Wine Column.
Entry criteria:
- Open to Australian wineries, state/regional associations and wine businesses with a published website.
- The website must be in English and be live and been updated within the period of 1 July 2025 and 31 July 2026.
Entry Fee:
An entry fee of $55 inc GST applies to every award nomination submission for this category.
Judging criteria:
The judges will consider the following with reference to each nomination:
- The design of the website – its look and feel and how compatible it is across a range of devices i.e. mobile, desktop, tablet.
- The functionality and user experience of the website – whether it is user friendly, mobile enhanced.
- Its creativity and originality – the content is offered in a unique and original way, or direct the user to engage with the content in a new way.
- Its relevance and reach – the content is relevant to the target audience. Some insights using GA4/ Google analytics to show performance over the campaign period and specific improvement on key metrics.
- SEO considerations – how the website has achieved search engine optimisation though use of key search words in landing pages or credible third-party links to the website.
- Results achieved against core objectives for the website (e.g. sales, vs information, wine club sign-ups etc)
- A commitment to developing ongoing excellence in wine communication will be considered favourably. This includes membership to Wine Communicators of Australia.
Prize:
The winner will receive: one year’s membership to WCA valued at $190 (or 1 free renewal for an existing member), a category trophy, and exclusive WCA 2026 award-winner print and web graphics to use in personal marketing and communications.
