David operates the family property in Mudgee, NSW running livestock and growing grapes making wine under the Lowe Family and Tinja brands named after the historic property, settled by the family in 1829. In 2006 the farm was granted organic status.
The initial impetus for the wine business was through Neil Perry at the famous Rockpool restaurant where he custom made wine for Neil’s house brand wine. His grounding with his mentors, Len Evans, Murray Tyrrell and now Neil Perry in the pursuit of quality and the importance of source regional material he would never forget.
With over 40 years experience in the wine industry, David has a wealth of knowledge in grape growing, winemaking and business management. He has been on a number of NSW regional and state association committees and formerly held executive position on the Winemakers Federation of Australia board.
David is well versed in the potential for the land to help with managing climate change, reduced waste of water, and agricultural diversity to protect and enhance rural communities.
