Dan is a wine professional with extensive experience in Europe and Australia. He has worked in the winery, distributor and retail areas of the industry and in early 2014 he moved to Adelaide from Sydney to get his hands dirty as a vintage cellar hand at Shaw + Smith in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Since then he has led the trade sales and education charge for Shaw + Smith in Australia and some export markets.
Over the years, Dan has pursued his love of words, writing the monthly ‘Happy Hour’ drinks pages in the SBS magazine, Feast, for three years. He has also been a video presenter on the online wine community, Spitbucket, and led masterclasses in the A+ Australian Wine Bar at the Good Food and Wine Shows nationally. In 2014 he and a business partner started their own wine brand from scratch – Tonic Wines – which has gone from strength to strength each year. He sold his share in the business to his partner at the end of 2019.
