Best Digital Communication
In recognition of outstanding work by an individual or team utilising digital communication medium across various forms including but not limited to podcast, YouTube, vlogs, blogs, electronic direct mail, online guerrilla marketing, mobile advertising & paid digital advertising campaigns, on wine products or wine-related topics.
This award acknowledges both the quality of the content as well as, audience engagement and clever use of a suite of communication tools now available to the modern digital wine communicator.
Entry criteria:
- Open to individuals or organisations who publish an Australian wine-focused series on 2+ digital formats. A series must contain at least three separate pieces of work similar in format and on the same platform e.g. 3 x podcast or 3 x blogs.
- Entries must have been published in the English language and executed between 1 July 2024 and 31 July 2025.
- Content must be 90% exclusively digital or online content and not simply a repeat of printed content.
- Promotion and fostering of conversations via social media platforms may be taken into account but this content cannot form the majority of the body of work submitted for judging.
Entry Fee:
An entry fee of $55 inc GST applies to every award nomination submission for this category.
Judging criteria:
The judges will consider the following with reference to each nomination:
- Effectiveness of the communicator – how the entry communication pieces are designed and tailored to the audience and medium.
- Relevance of the content to the desired audience and the industry.
- Ability to convey core brand messaging in a tone and manner appropriate to the target audience.
- Depth and breadth of wine knowledge, as well as the ability to convey that knowledge in a tone and manner appropriate to the target audience.
- Outcomes and results – outcomes which were achieved vs key campaign goals. (e.g. sales, key success metrics (e.g. Return on Investment (ROI), Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), reach or engagement.
- A commitment to developing ongoing excellence in wine communication will be considered favourably. This includes membership to Wine Communicators of Australia.
Prize:
The winner will receive: one year’s membership to WCA valued at $190 (or 1 free renewal for an existing member), a category trophy, and exclusive WCA 2025 award-winner print and web graphics to use in personal marketing and communications.

- Email your Entry Form and all supporting materials, by the deadline of 15 August, including an image of the nominee and/or organisation to represent your entry, to admin@winecommunicators.com.au
